Avoidance, Day 18: Aha! This is the solution!

Avoidance, Day 18, 10:00am: Aha! This is the solution!
Money spent on clothes: $0

Genius! Part of my problem is so much unstructured free time, which leads to shopping. I work 36 hours a week (three 12-hour shifts) as a nurse, and on my 4 days off I often spend afternoons "running errands" which are code words for browsing Marshall's/Old Navy/Nordstrom Rack/Target while out going to the grocery store or returning library books. Which leads to buying clothes.

Today volunteered to work 4 hours of overtime from 11am-3pm. Genius! It takes away shopping time! And I get money. Am genius, will be rich soon.

Avoidance, Day 16: Home Alone

Avoidance, Day 16: Home Alone
Money spent of clothes: $0

Thoughts while preparing dinner:
Even with wasting all this money on clothes, feel guilty throwing away barely used tin foil and plastic ziploc bags. Just realized that as I was writing that, am sitting here in house alone on a Monday afternoon thinking about what to make for dinner (hence the tin foil segue) and am only wearing underwear.

I am only wearing underwear.

Why spend all this money on clothes when, let's be honest, I spend a lot of time walking around house in only underwear? And how come can have guilt over using up kitchen staples yet absent guilt for rampant spending on clothing? Why? Life is a mystery.

Avoidance, Day 15: j.crew catalog inspiration

Avoidance, Day 15: j.crew Catalog Inspiration
Money spent on clothes: $0

After dispatching the toddler back to her parents, felt like living a little. Saw latest Batman movie with couple friend. Felt like wearing black spandex and fighting crime afterwards. Instead went back to couple friends house and had wine, takeout, and TV marathon. Best kind of Sunday night. Watched The Kardashians, The Bachelorette finale, Duck Dynasty, the Wild and Wonderful White's of West Virginia, and then the After the Rose ceremony. Felt very strange afterwards. Outfit was very cute and inspired by the latest j.crew catalog, which I paged through while watching toddler color. Thought to self, parenting is a breeze.

Avoidance, Day 14: Auntie Mame or Auntie MoMo?
Money spent on clothes: $0, and gave away free overnight childcare to friend. Am loving, charitable person.

Had sleepover with friends 2 year old so she could focus on moving. Was delightful and charming until she threw a tantrum at the 11th hour, embarrassing Husband and I in taco establishment. Hope I looked the part of chic mommy. Scarlett (the 2 year old) gets bonus points for her Ikat shorts.
